For Patients

We focus on one-on-one physical therapy. Our patients return to full functional capacity by becoming actively involved in the rehabilitative process through education. All patients are instructed in sound body mechanics, tailored to their specific job, activity and lifestyle. This enhances the injury awareness and helps in the understanding the importance of lifestyle modifications that will be necessary in order to return to full functional capacity.

By using the latest in scientific information and technology, ProActive can help a person reach or exceed their prior functional levels. Skilled interventions such as manual therapy (manipulation, mobilization, massage, etc.), therapeutic exercise (scientifically designed to fit your body's unique needs), and education on such topics as modality use (heat, ice, etc.) body mechanics, posture, lifestyle habits, etc. can restore function and performance more quickly, more fully, and with less risk of re-injury than any other approach.

Our commitment to you, our patient, is expert orthopedic physical therapy evaluation and treatment in a professional, relaxed atmosphere. We will begin your therapy with a specific manual therapy evaluation to determine a proper course of treatment. Treatment techniques are personalized and clinically tested over time. Your physical therapist is highly trained to detect when pain may be referred from other areas, i.e., hip pain secondary to a back problem, and will treat this to maximize your recovery and good health.

Our commitment to home exercises is addressed to minimize your time, cost and facilitate your recovery! Please allow about an hour and ten minutes for your first treatment, and about forty-five minutes for each treatment thereafter.

Physical therapy services for orthopedic and sports conditions/injuries are our specialty at ProActive Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy.

We utilize functional rehabilitation for spinal injuries. Functional rehabilitation of spinal injuries is a progressive strengthening program for patients with spinal dysfunction ranging from soft tissue injuries to instabilities or disc involvement. The emphasis is on stabilizing the involved spinal segments with exercises whose purpose is to minimize the load on the involved area. This is complemented by a thorough upper and lower extremity conditioning program; the end result being total body physical fitness.
